Foundry Square photos
"Foundry Square" is made up of four, sort-of-symmetrical plazas on the four corners of First and Howard. These photos were all taken at the 500 Howard address.
The plaza was--I think--designed by SWA. It's nicely detailed. So nicely it's a little...cold.
There is a trucker in Modesto missing 4,000 lbs of diamondplate. Have you seen it?
The elevated courtyard seems to connect the space to the building more than to the sidewalk.
Getting there This
rather noisy outdoor plaza can be found on the western corner of 1st and
Howard Street. Although the indoor lobby is decoratively furnished, it
is not included as a part of the space provided for the public.
Surveillance & Gatekeepers Surveillance
cameras are on all 3 corners of the building facade from 1st and Howard.
The security at the front desk has full view of the space through glass
walls. Be prepared to be watched by the cameras, the security, and the
many cars roaring by.
Local Dress & Behavior Any
type of recreational type of use may seem awkward to others as well as
yourself due to the high traffic and uncomfortable openness of the space.
Many use this area for temporary activities such as cell phone use and
smoking. Business casual to street casual clothing is accepted in this
space since it is along the street.
